Fake Jake Doyle caught at the U.S. border

It appears Jake Doyle is tangled up in another case that needs solving.

Counterfeit DVDs of “Republic of Doyle” were seized at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection office in the state of Washington last month.

It was one of two separate shipments in February that were found to hold television programs that aired in Canada and the United States, according to a news release issued on the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s website Wednesday.

One shipment held 20 boxes of “Republic of Doyle,” while the other had 10 boxes of “Little House on the Prairie.”

The products had been in storage awaiting further inspection and were spotted because they were marked with counterfeit DVD logos.

The popular Newfoundland-filmed series aired on CBC for six seasons from 2010-2014.
