According to a release from the Department of Transportation and Works, the province has begun expanding the Provincial Plow Tracker service to highways in Labrador.

“The new tow plow and highway cameras and the expansion of the plow tracker service into Labrador are enabling motorists to make more informed decisions before they travel, but we always remind everyone to drive to conditions this winter,” said Steve Crocker, Minister of Transportation and Works, in the release.

“I also take this opportunity to thank the more than 700 people throughout the province who work nights and day on our highways, often in dangerous, terrible weather to keep people safe. We appreciate the service you provide.”

Western and central Labrador has now been added to the plow tracker while equipment in southern Labrador will be added in the coming weeks.

The Provincial Plow Tracker, highway cameras, driving conditions reports, and updates via the department’s Twitter, @TW_GovNL, can be found at www.roads.gov.nl.ca.
