It’s been hitting hotels through most Canadian locations, and now the scam is in Labrador City.

Basically, scammers are calling into hotels, asking to connect to a room. Then the caller pretends to be the front desk, saying the guest’s credit card info has been deleted or lost and asking for credit card information.

Two Seasons hotel in Labrador City posted a notice on their front door, as soon as staff were made aware of what was happening, to warn guests of the scam.

Francois Pradella of the Two Seasons Inn told the Aurora, “Guests should never give out credit card info or any personal data over the phone.”

He says if someone receives a call asking for that they should report it to the hotel immediately.
