Labrador City Curves awarded highest recognition

Labrador City business owners struck gold in Nashville, Tennessee earlier this month.

Local Curves owners Linda and Norm Keats, as well as Manager Cathy Fry travelled to the home of the Grand Ole Opry earlier this month to take part in the Curves 14th Annual Convention (held Nov. 5-7).

The Labrador City fitness club received Gold for all of Eastern Canada and the United States, which involves approximately 2000 clubs.

"It was just unbelievable," said Linda of being awarded the status. "It's a thrill to be recognized by Curves as the best of the best. We take great pride in offering a superior level of service and quality to our members and this award truly reflects what a great Curves club we have in Labrador City,"

According to a press release issued by Curves, award winners were chosen for their adherence to the Curves methods, their success in providing quality service to members, their level of community involvement, and personal recommendations. While there were numerous candidates in each region, winners typically exhibited an extra quality; something special that set them head and shoulders above the rest.

Linda said she is very proud of the award saying it's a great achievement for her manager Cathy as well the wonderful staff that make all the difference.

Though Norm is co-owner of Labrador City club, he was insistent on putting the honour over to the women who, he says, have done a great job. And, the die-hard fan admitted, an opportunity to get close to the Grand Ole Opry was an exciting element to the convention as well.
