Woman charged after man hit over head with beer bottle

An 18-year-old woman has been charged with assault with a weapon after a 20-year-old man was hit over the head with a beer bottle in Sheshatshiu, Labrador.

The RCMP in Sheshatshiu said officers were called to a residence in the community about 10:29 p.m. Tuesday where the man was found to be bleeding from a head wound.

He was taken to hospital in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The woman was held in custody until released today on conditions after she appeared for a bail hearing in provincial court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. She will return to court at a later date.
