Noah Bowers has his face painted.

Faces were painted, food devoured, and fun was the message at last week’s Family Day.

The day was hosted by the Ministerial Association and the by Labrador City Recreation Department.

The free event allowed the community to spend time with their families, as well as give an opportunity for the different religious organizations to meet people from within the community.

The event was originally scheduled for Centennial Park but rain put a damper on the Family Day festivities and it was moved into the Labrador City Arena.

There was live music, a corn boil and a barbeque, bouncy castles, games, and a chance to fellowship, there was something for everyone.

The Labrador West Ministerial Association is a non-denominational organization, made up of Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church, St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Salvation Army, Carol United Church, and the Roman Catholic Basilica.

They meet once a month, and take part in events throughout the year, such as the tree lighting ceremony at Christmas, to their involvement with the Legion on Remembrance Day.
